IVY MAY - VW CAMPER

She sleeps four - two downstairs on the fold flat seats & two upstairs in the pop-up on the memory foam base.  Cosy and comfy!

She has everything you need for an escape to the wild - a mini-kitchen with fridge/freezer, gas hobs, sink with pumped water & all the utensils you'll need (cutlery, plates, cups, cooking knives, pans, bowls, chopping board, kettle, picnic cool bag etc). Tea. coffee, sugar provided. Spacious seating, lots of windows and plenty of storage for longer trips.

Ivy May is wonderful to drive with the benefit of a DSG Auto gearbox, parking sensors, reverse camera, A/C, decent stereo with Apple CarPay link for SatNav and music, DAB radio & hands free operation.  5 seats with the front two on swivel setting so you can all eat and socialise together. And the all-important independent diesel heater system to ensure a warm and cosy night, whatever the weather. Blackout curtains all-round for privacy and a good lie-in!

Her rear hatch door with LED downlights is perfect to escape the sun...or the rain! The swivel front seats and clip-on table provides a perfect dining solution for four people and camp table and chairs are available as an add-on hire for those who prefer to eat outdoors.

Powerful leisure battery is included and is helped along by roof-mounted solar panels. Mains power hook-up is there for camp site stays and re-charges. Annual gas and electric certificated. 

You can hire Ivy May for the weekend or the week - with just 3 days minimal hire.  Go as far as you like with our unlimited mileage deal*.  We set you off with a full tank of fuel and fully comprehensive insurance, breakdown cover, CO2 monitors & fire blankets + extinguishers are all there for your safety and peace of mind. 

If you are new to the VW Camper experience, we'll give you a full demonstration on how everything works and there's private parking for your own car whilst you are away.

We welcome your pooch too with small well behaved dogs allowed (additional fee applies).

Well, we've provided the kitchen sink...so the rest is up to you!

You'll need to sort your own sleeping equipment, mattress toppers, quilts and pillows will give you luxurious comfort but take a lot of space - cosy sleeping bags are a space-saving option.

There is a surprising about of space in the van, with the various cubby holes swallowing up more than you'd think - but don't over pack.  Using client testimony, you'll probably only need half of what you think you'll need.

Will it come with fuel?

- YES, hire is 'Full-to-Full'  You'll be provided with a full tank of diesel and be expected to return it with a full tank of diesel.

How many miles can I do?

- We allow unlimited mileage for weekly hires, mileage is capped for shorter hire periods

How does it all work?

- You'll be given a full demonstration at the point of your hire.  There are also a number of 'How To' videos on this website to help you during your adventure.  

Does she have satnav?

- Ivy May comes with VW CarPlay featured radio unit that allows you to link your own iPhone/Android phone to the car - playing the map (Google maps, Apple maps etc) on the van's radio screen and sound through the van's speakers. 

How many people can I take?

- Ivy May sleeps 4. 

Do I need to take out insurance?

- Your hire includes comprehensive insurance for up to two driver's that fulfil our underwriter's criteria (age, convictions etc).  You may wish to take out an additional 'excess' policy of your own, to cover you for the £500/£700 excess, should you need to claim.

Is there a minimum or maximum age?

- Yes, our insurance company imposes a minimum age of 23 and a maximum age of 75 for drivers. (Drivers aged 23 and 24 are subject to an increased excess on claims).

What happens if I breakdown?

- Ivy May is covered by Volkswagen Road Side Assistance with cover UK-wide. She also has a full size spare wheel.

What is the weight limit for the pop-up roof bed?

- 200kg. 

How much water does she carry?

- The onboard water tank holds 20 litres of fresh tap water.  This is easy to top up.

Does she have a toilet and shower?

- No, she's a bit too small for an onboard bathroom! Small 'portaloo' toilet units are however available to buy from various retailers from £30.00 upwards.

Does she have ISO-Fix?

- No. All seats are TUV approved and crash tested and safe for use with car seats and boosters, but using the seatbelt.

Can I take the dog?

- Yes. We welcome all well-behaved pooches.  We just ask that they stay off the furniture and you clean up after muddy paws. We do not provide equipment for pets, so you'll need to remember bowls, beds and blankets.

How much is the deposit?

- £750.00.  We take a holding deposit on the day of the rental. We will return this to your bank/card within 3 working days of the van's return, providing there is no damage, missing items, full fuel etc  

Can I take the van abroad?

- No. Ivy May must stay on the UK mainland.

Can  I rent Ivy May for just 1 night?

- Our minimum rental period is 3 nights. You can by all means take her for just one night, but you will be charged for a 3 night hire. 

Does Ivy May have any friends we can hire too?

- YES! We have a link with a larger camper van rental site, so if you'd like additional VW Camper vans or full motorhomes we can arrange this.
